Definition

Definition of the German Federal Government:

"Bioeconomy refers to the production, exploitation and use of biological resources, processes and systems to provide products, processes and services in all economic sectors within the framework of a sustainable economic system." [1]


BioEconomy e.V.

The BioEconomy e.V. mainly brings together regional companies and research institutions in Central Germany in the field of the bio-based economy and networks them nationally and internationally.

The aim of this bioeconomy cluster is to promote the material and energetic use of biomass in order to accelerate the switch from fossil to renewable raw materials. The BioEconomy e.V. represents the interests of its members in business, science and politics and supports them in the realization of research, development and implementation projects.

The BioEconomy e.V. understands the necessary structural change in Central Germany as an opportunity to set decisive accents for the establishment and strengthening of the bioeconomy .
